Photo of Malecon of Puerto Plata

The Puerto Plata Malecon (which means embankment) runs along the Atlantic coast for approximately 4 miles.  From end to end you can find several spots, activities and areas to visit; restaurants, San Felipe Fort, and the lighthouse at the Puntilla.  The coast is unique to the trade winds that sweep shorelines, hence you can fly a kite, surf, kite board, ride a bike or simply enjoy a stroll on the lovely Malecon beach. The recent addition on Malecon is La Sirena superstore, which changes dramatically retailer business in this province.

Malecon is the place where locals and tourist meet, especially at night and on weekends when roadside vendors prepare small snacks and several discos blast music into the early morning hours. Maybe a merengue festival or a beach volley tournament going on down the Malecon at the weekend.

I love the first panoramic where you can see basically the living and kitchen area. Really nice job.
