National park Los Haitises is an 83 square miles wildlife sanctuary made of mangrove swamps, rock formations, and exotic waterways. It has more then 100 species of birds and mammals including several rare and endangered ones. Los Haitises national park lies south of Samana peninsula right next to Sanchez.
