Magnificent view on the road from Sanchez to Las Terrenas. The waters of the humid Samana Bay area are studded with islets and fringed by large coconut-treed beaches. The area is valued for its fauna including humpback whales, seen between November and March, seals, turtles and a variety of birds. A landscape of lush green hills and fields runs along the peninsula.
